The vacuum flask

The vacuum flask has several ways of keeping the heat in or out.
The shiny surfaces prevent heat radiation and also reflect any heat energy that falls on them.
The partial vacuum between the two sides of the flask reduces conduction to a very small amount and the stopper prevents heat loss by convection.


The shiny sides are on both surfaces of the glass – inside and outside.
