Planck's constant measurement

Light is shone from a white light source onto the photo cathode of the photoelectric cell. The lamp is powered by an ac souce and so with no pd on the cathode an alternating trace will be seen on the oscilloscope.

For each coloured filter an increasing negative potential is applied to the photocell anode until the trace is flattened - this means that no electrons are reaching the detector.
