Boyle's law

The animation shows the random motion of molecules in a box. The temperature of the gas is constant meaning that there is no loss of kinetic energy.

As the piston is moved to the left the number of collisions per second that the molecules make with the walls of the cylinder increases showing an increase is gas pressure.
